HI THERE! I’M JENNA – THAT “TINY HOUSE GIRL”
Five years ago I had an overwhelming amount of debt and no money to pursue my dreams. I was working paycheck to paycheck. Then, in 2013, I did something radical. I quit my stable job and built a Tiny House on wheels. The goal? To live simply and travel the world. Tiny House Giant Journey was born.

From 2014-2015, I visited more than thirty U.S. States and five Canadian Provinces with my Tiny House in tow. Along the journey, I met dozens of like-minded people embracing a variety of alternative lifestyles. I was inspired by them because I know how difficult it can be to live “alternatively” to what society deems as normal. I began sharing the challenges and benefits of living small on this blog, as well as stories from my trips around the world.
IT IS DIFFICULT TO EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I’VE LEARNED FROM DOWNSIZING
I know now that life is bigger and more meaningful than what we believe to be the American Dream (big house, white picket fence, fancy car, etc). I hold a higher value on my time, passions, and experiences. My little house, which may seem meager to most, has brought me more happiness than any other space I’ve called “home.” And, while I know that living in a Tiny House is not for everyone, I believe there are many benefits to clearing up space, not only in our homes but also in our lives and minds.
MY MANTRA IS: TRAVEL BIG, LIVE TINY
My affordable lifestyle has allowed me to pay off my debt AND (with my extra income) travel abroad multiple times a year. Since downsizing in 2014, I’ve visited these destinations: Iceland, France, Costa Rica, Mexico, Thailand, Hawaii, Taiwan, Peru, Guatemala, El Salvador, Great Britain, Spain, and Morocco.
